Expectations. Discipline. Unconditional love. Passion. These are the values instilled in DeVante Blanks by his mother and family growing up near the temptation-filled neighborhoods of Chicago’s west side.
They are the same ideals he models daily, and often very late into the night, in his work as Founder and President of the Reflections Community Service Program LLC.
Mr. Blanks is a college graduate and former student athlete for the University of Green Bay Wisconsin. Mr. Blanks played all for years for the UWGB Men’s Basketball team. Under the late Coach Mike Heideman, Mr. Blanks endured what he believed as a ‘never give-up’ attitude along with preparations of real-life experiences. Mr. Blanks’ talents created an opportunity to travel the world as he played professionally overseas in China and Macedonia post-graduation; before realizing that his dream job was waiting for him back in Green Bay.
Working with youth and creating a safe and comfortable setting, where they can accomplish certain skills and goals; they never knew existed within themselves. While being a resource and establishing positive relationships, Mr. Blanks and his staff focus on developing the skills needed for healthy living. Granting support in building a sense of personal identity while working on daily skill enhancement.
